(Melissa Gucker)

Although you were able to get a taste of who I am by viewing my Home Page, here are a few more little tid bits for you to enjoy!

Although I have been teaching for 4 years now, I have had a wide-array of assignments. From teaching 4th Grade for two years, Begindergarten (preschool) for one year, and now onto 3rd Grade-I feel as though I am always on the go!

I grew up in Southeastern Michigan (small town of Dexter, Michigan). Currently, I still reside there although I don't plan on staying for much longer (way too long of a commute for me!).

I graduated from Michigan State University in the Spring of 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. I also gained a minor in Social Studies.

Currently I teach in Howell, Michigan as noted on my Home Page, but Challenger Elementary is also the only school that I have worked in since I was hired (despite all of the grade level moves).

I am very close to my family and see them on a weekly basis. My family consists of my mother (Greta), father (Frank), and younger brother (Matt). I also love spending free time with with my close friends.

I am a self-proclaimed perfectionist. Sometimes this gets me to extraordinary places, other times it just leaves me with a large headache!

I played both volleyball and basketball throughout school. I am excited to report that I am still active and competitively involved with these two sports (currently playing on a volleyball league). Additionally, I truly love coaching these two sports and hope to have more opportunities to do so in the future.

Although I love organized sports, in the spring and summer months I can be found outside doing anything from rollerblading to hiking. Occasionally I will partake in a winter activity (snowmobiling or skiing), but the winter is definitely not one of my most favorite things to think about!

Yes, I already mentioned that I graduated from Michigan State University (and will soon be finishing my Master's there as well), but I didn't get to mention how much of a die hard Michigan State fan I really am! I truly am a Spartan through and through! GO GREEN! GO WHITE!

With my Master's coming to a close, it has become clear how hard I have worked for this and how proud I actually am of my accomplishments throughout this program. I am even more excited to see where my future takes me!
